it is a criminal justice system o matter what, a body by the constitution, you can say a question has been raised and justice needs to answer that question. that is what we are asking for, a simple justice that allows everyone to stand at the table of opportunity, equality and rightness. i would make the argument tonight, we have laid out a road map, whether it is cameras, supporting the president's request for moneys, whether it is legislation dealing with the utilization of tickets and citations and stopping people from moving, whether or not it is my brother's keeper, the judiciary committee along with my colleagues, can raise the constitution and no matter who we are, we can look at those men, st. louis rams, applaud them for their work and law enforcement and make a

purposeful commit mountain that we will follow in the pathway and use the tools to make our criminal justice system work for all of us, whether we are poor, whether we are rich, in unique communities. we are going to say to mr. brown and say to mike's mother that justice is going to come not respecting whether or not we stand on one side or another. we are one ray or another. i have faith in the constitution and have faith in this congress and the very reason that judge gohmert yielded us, i know we will be engaged in a pathway forward to make america rise to hire angels and the constitution we love. i thank you, mr. jeffries, and i yield

>> some members of the congressional by caucus has suggested the president invite the family of michael brown to his state of the union address in january, where he will speak before a joint session of congress. john lewis says it would help educate and sensitize other members on some of the issues. others have suggested the family of eric garner be included in the invite. torand jury decided not indict a police officer for an incident in july, when garner was put into a chokehold while being arrested, and later died. president obama spoke briefly about the decision the day it was announced. this was during an event he was attending in washington. >> some of you may have heard there was a decision that came out today by a grand jury not to

indict police officers who had interacted with an individual with eric garner in new york city, all of which was caught on videotape and speaks to the larger issues that we've been talking about now for the last week, the last month, the last year, and, sadly, for decades, and that is the concern on the part of too many minority communities that law enforcement is not working with them and dealing with them in a fair way. and there's going to be, i'm sure, additional statements by law enforcement. my tradition is not to remark on cases where there may still be an investigation. but i want everybody to understand that this week, in the wake of ferguson, we initiated a task force whose job

it is to come back to me with specific recommendations about how we strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and communities of color and minority communities that feel that bias is taking place, that we are going to take specific steps to improve the training and the work with state and local governments when it comes to policing in communities of color, that we are going to be scrupulous in investigating cases where we are concerned about the impartiality and accountability that's taking place. and as i said when i met with folks both from ferguson and law enforcement and clergy and civil rights activists, i said this is an issue that we've been dealing
